Just Under the Wire

Happy Earth Day!

I will spare you from my long lectures on the subject this year - let's just do our part to take care of the beautiful home we have been given.

Back on Track

The kids went back to school today, and I have lots of pictures to share from our break.

We spent Easter week at Mema & Papa's in St. George. All of the cousins were there - the kids loved it.

Of course, they loved visiting the sheep too.

haha - I know I am terrible for posting this. This is the first trip I discovered the joy of traveling with a little boy. Awesome. Although, I was yelling at Kylie to stop watching her brother pee, as I am taking a picture, bad mommy. I am really hoping Matthew knows this is only acceptable 50 miles away from any bathrooms, and not in the backyard.

My sister, April, being her silly self.

hmm, wonder where he gets it from. Mema had a big Easter egg hunt for all the cousins.

Somehow the Easter Bunny found us at Mema's house and left some goodies for Kylie & Matthew.

Matthew thought he found a real golden egg. He was a little disappointed when he found bubble gum inside.

My sister, Allison, was able to take leave from the Air Force to come spend Easter with us. She made us some yummy heart pancakes for breakfast. Thanks Alli!

We spent a day at Zion's Park with Mema & Papa. It is so gorgeous there.

The kids are old enough to go on some little hikes now. We went on a very short hike up to Weeping Rock (can you see the water falling in the picture?) Matthew cannot stop talking about "rainy rock." I think it was his favorite part of the trip.

Kylie is starting to develop a little attitude. I should probably be annoyed, but I remember being that age and being the queen of attitude, so I just have to smile every time she asks "seriously mom?"

Thankfully the attitude passes quickly, and she is my happy girl most of the time.

Matthew lost his first tooth! He discovered it was loose as we were driving off to Mema's, and lost it as soon as we arrived back home. So, he had to make due using Kylie's pink toothfairy pillow, because I have waited too long to make his. I will make his soon and post it on here if anyone is interested in making one of their own. Matthew didn't seem to mind the pink pillow - his only concern was the money!

Soccer season also started up again. Kylie and Matthew had games scheduled at the same time, in two different places, so John took Matthew to his game, and I took Kylie. I snapped a quick pic of Matthew before he was off to his game. Isn't he a cutie?

Kylie picked up right where she left off. She really knows how to get in there and get the ball away from the boys. I love cheering for her.

OK, last picture, I know you must be falling asleep by now. Can you guess what book Kylie chose for her latest book report?

This Post Brought To You By Guilt

I have not blogged much lately partly due to laziness. My camera battery has been dead, and I kept forgetting to remove it from my purse and put it on the charger downstairs. I finally worked up the energy to do it.
Not only is it Spring Break, it is also our last track break of the school year. As we were on our way to Discovery Gateway today, Matthew said, "Mommy are you going to take any pictures today? You know our blog book isn't going to have any pictures next year, and we will be very sad." I guess I charged my camera just in time.

It was way crowded at the Gateway today - it's normally not crowded at all, but wow, we could hardly move without bumping into someone today.

Matthew is always begging to fill up my car. He was on cloud nine today when he found this little pump.

Isn't Kylie a sweet little bunny?

Matthew pretending to be a troll. He took the role very seriously, and chased all the other little kids off the stage.

Yesterday we went to Boondocks.

This is the 'Kiddie Cove' that Kylie & Matthew literally spend hours playing in. It's a good thing they are short - some kids their age are starting to be too tall. Kylie & Matthew probably have another couple years before they have to worry about that.

And here is the best part of my week. Sweet little Matilda was born yesterday, and I got to hold her. Isn't she adorable? I think Cara looks amazing for just giving birth a couple hours earlier.
