John's office had a fun party for the kids. When we walked in, there was a big green balloon arch that said Welcome to Emerald City. The receptionists were dressed as Dorothy and Glenda the good witch. Then we followed a yellow brick road around to the different departments trick-or-treating. The kids love visiting Daddy at work. We took him some of the cookies we made.

Baby Blue
So, it's been over a year since I painted Kylie's room and I've been promising Matthew I'd paint his room ever since then. Took me long enough didn't it? I let my kids pick all of their own stuff for their bedrooms, including paint color. Matthew picked this lovely baby blue. I am not a big fan of baby blue and bit my tongue and said ok. While I was painting, Matthew came in and gasped in the most excited little voice, "Mommy it's the color I dreamed of!" Now I love the color :)

Just what I needed
I was having one of those not-so-fabulous days today. Matthew poured an entire bottle of glue on the table, then poured a carton of yogurt under the table and had a little finger painting fun. Then he jumped off of his bed and cut his tongue (big deep cut) on his nightlight. He almost cut a chunk of his tongue right off - it looks fairly disgusting so it's a good thing I'm not squeamish. The list of Matthew fun goes on, but you get the idea. I was feeling crappy. Then I found this pretty little card in my mailbox :) My wonderful friend Cara sent me a very sweet card and it made my day. Thank you dearie - I love you too :) Oh, and if anyone needs a good laugh, check out Cara's blog post for today - love it!

Pumpkin Patch
In search of the perfect pumpkin...... Kylie picked one for herself and one for Daddy. She told me I could just use the ones from our garden.
We have a really cool pumpkin patch by our house that we visit every year. Very cheap pumpkins, with a free kiddie corn maze, and they let the kids sit on the tractors. I love this place!

Parent Teacher Conferences
Yes, Kylie's teacher told me what I already knew. My daughter is perfect. If I wasn't too lazy to go downstairs to my scanner at the moment I would scan in her beautiful report card. Have I made you all nauseated yet? I am just a proud mommy and felt like bragging a little. Now tomorrow I have Matthew's Parent Teacher conference, so I may come home in tears - haha. I know my little boy is perfect, but his teacher may not find his energy and curiosity and silliness as appealing as I do! I am so lucky to have 2 kids that balance our family so well.

Look at that!
See that little counter over there? I stole it from you Car-Car. Yep, now I can tell if anyone is actually reading this thing, or if this truly is just my own personal journal. I don't know why I think anyone is reading it - I only gave it to my family and Cara :) Now I can yell at you though if my counter says nobody is here!

Lazy Sunday
I love Sundays. The rest of the week is so busy it's nice to stop and catch your breath. But, conference Sunday is the best. When else can you wear your jammies all day?
I wish I had pictures of the kids' soccer game yesterday, but it was snowing hard and I didn't want my camera to get ruined - we were soaked head to toe. All the other soccer games were cancelled, but our crazy coach insisted that we never cancel a game for any reason. A little over the top for 5 year-olds I think. I guess he's good though because we keep winning our games. So we are the only game out there, and the kids can barely see as they are wiping the snow from their eyes. Kylie was loving it and played the entire game while Matthew hid under a blanket. I had no idea sports could be so hard core for 5 year-olds!
