First Day of Kindergarten

Kylie started kindergarten today! She cried when it was time for Mommy to leave, but all it took was recess and swings and she's ready to go back tomorrow.

Last Day of Summer Break

Our neighborhood had an 'end of summer' party yesterday. The kids played water games, ate popsicles and even had their faces painted.

The Tooth Fairy is coming to our house!

Kylie lost her first tooth today. She is very excited...it is already under her pillow waiting for the Tooth Fairy. She was chewing gum this morning, and it was so loose that it fell out onto the floor by itself. She has been patiently wiggling it for almost 2 weeks now. She is growing up way too fast - loosing her first tooth and starting kindergarten within the same week!

The toe

Matthew is giving me 'the toe.' He had a rough weekend, but is feeling much better today. He had an asthma attack and strep throat with a 105 fever early Saturday morning. Poor little guy, but he is back to being my wild little boy today :)

Fin

This is our new pet, Fin. The kids picked him out yesterday. Matthew learned a poem at school about Finnie Fish, so he wanted to call him Fin. I hope Fin will stick around longer than our other fish have :)

Summer fun

We are enjoying the last few days of summer before kindergarten starts. The kids love playing in the water every chance they get. I wish these days could last forever!

Our first garden box

We decided to try growing a garden this year. We thought we should start small in case we weren't very good at it. To our surprise, everything is growing really well. We even had to pull some plants out because there just wasn't any room. We plan on expanding next year! The kids love picking the tomatoes and zucchini, and can't wait until the pumpkins and cantaloupe are ready.

My big boy

Matthew's first day of "real" preschool was this week. (Not his developmental/speech preschool -that starts next week- but the real thing!) He loves it. My baby is a big boy now.

Here we go...........

I have decided to start a blog for a couple reasons, the first being that my family lives far away, and this will allow anyone interested to keep up with whatever we're doing and see pictures of the kids. I'd also like to keep it as a sorta journal for the kids & I to remember the little daily things. And I might post scrapbook or cardmaking stuff for friends or contests - maybe. So, I think it would be really cool if other people in my family would start a blog too, so the kids can read about and see pictures of their cousins. Just something to think about :)
